Pem Dunn
Oils

Pem Dunn has lived and painted in Colorado since 1984. He now maintains residences in Evergreen and Tabernash. His paintings are a clear reflection of his love of the out-of-doors. From streams and mountains of the high country to fields of wild flowers, he creates scenes that look as if they were a place into which one could step. Hiking the backcountry trails of the Rocky Mountains provides much of his inspiration. Viewing Pem's work, one sees many familiar vistas of these areas in his oil. Whether it is a ski run or a high mountain lake, Pem is inspired by the constant changes in light and weather. Dunn's interest in light and subtle nuances of color bring a great deal of richness to his work.

Dunn has studied with some of this country's finest artists including Joseph Dawley, Natalie Becker, and Scott Christensen.

Dunn has been in numerous shows throughout the country including Art for the Parks in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a one-man show in 2006 at the Elk Horn Gallery in Winter Park, Colorado, and most recently as guest artist at the 2008 Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters National Show held in Winter Park, where he received an Award of Merit and the Peoples' Choice Award. Pem has also been selected to be on the artists represented in the 2010 Colorado Governors Invitational Art Show.

Dunn regularly teaches oil painting at Evergreen Fine Art Academy & Evergreen Art Center.
